The timeless allure of fine English furniture makes it most sought after.
Of course it is extremely important when buying within a budget to buy one good piece rather than two lesser quality pieces since in buying the best, one is less likely to wish to up-grade (which can be a poor option financially) and the best pieces have historically proven to be a better long term investment
illustrated: A pair of mahogany side chairs Circa 1740. These chairs are extremely good value now priced at £5,000. They are constructed in solid Cuban mahogany which is a very dense and strong variety of mahogany, hence they are in fine condition. The design is a familiar chair design of the first half of the eighteenth century. They each have vase shaped splats with curved profiles. The trapezoid loose seats now covered in modern fabric are situated within moulded frames and stand on cabriole front legs with “pad” feet and turned rear legs united with turned stretchers.
