A regency mahogany hat/stick stand Circa 1815
This recently acquired stand is an earlier example than most which are seen on the market which tend to have wooden arms and stick ring unlike this example which has brass arms with rosette terminals and brass stick ring. Again unlike later examples which tend to have heavier bases, this one has a quadruple swept and reeded legs base typical of George III period. The whole appearance hence being of a much less heavy feeling and extremely elegant.
